Details of The Meeting

This Sunday rainy morning, members braved their way to attend the 102th meeting of Thane Toastmasters. Despite the heavy rains, the meeting was packed with energetic members and guests.

The session was started by TM Neela, who gave the general instructions.

Toastmaster of the Day (TMOD) TM Amit then took over the rest of the session and recited the mission of the Toastmaster. Below is a glimpse of how the meeting went in pictures.

TM Amitosh introduced the theme of today’s meeting Graphology.

Graphology is the pseudoscientific analysis of determining people’s psychological, social, occupational, and medical attributes from the configuration of their letters, lines, and paragraphs on a page. TM Amitosh talked about different styles of writing and how they convey different personalities of an individual.

TM Amitosh then introduced the role holders and then began with the first session of the meeting the prepared speech session.

Prepared speeches

Speaker 1, TM Amit gave his P6 speech titled “Encounter in the middle of the night”

He gave a very humorous account of an abstract situation that happened in his life when 2 political titans paid a visit to his house on the same night “Promiser of Acche Din” Narendra Modi and “Crusader with a Broom” Arvind Kejriwal. The intense humourous conversation TM Amit had with both of them formed the center of his speech.

This humorous speech was evaluated by TM Rajesh.

Speaker 2, TM Bhaskar gave his ACB 5 speech titled “Ragging”

TM Bhaskar talked about his days in IIT. It was at the time when ragging was still not illegal. He described the harrowing experience of being ragged by his seniors in ways he could not even imagine. Lifting his one foot up for hours to jumping from the 2nd floor were some of the cruel things juniors were subjected in the premier institution IIT. Soon the juniors came to terms with it and they also followed the same custom of ragging when they became seniors, although it was not as severe to what they were subjected to when they were juniors.

His speech was evaluated by TM Sriram.
